We are gearing up for a very exciting period in our long history and currently have an opening for a part time, adjunct Electronics Technology Instructor at our Honolulu campus.
OVERVIEW:
The role of this position is to help facilitate student learning in program areas through a variety of methodologies, types of assessment and, to facilitate an environment conducive to student success.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• promote student retention and actively participate in campus activities designed to promote student success
• provide quality instruction;
• meet course objectives, requirements, and student learning outcomes;
• manage the classroom environment using a variety of teaching strategies;
• provide formative and summative assessment of student learning;
• facilitate a safe, positive and supportive learning environment;
• support students in their efforts to succeed;
• maintain accurate records and submit records and data by the due dates, compliance with FERPA, and other regulations;
• participate in professional growth opportunities and support campus events;
• model and employ professional and positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and students;
• work collaboratively with all members of the Heald-wide community
• serve on committees;
• advise students;
• participate in reviewing curriculum and course related conference call
• provide feedback on textbooks for course adoptions;
• respond to course/program surveys; and
• adapt to changes in the work environment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor’s degree in a field that is related to the course(s), which you will be teaching
• A minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience relevant to the discipline that you will be teaching
• Excellent communication skills
• A desire to support and motivate students throughout their academic career at Heald
• Able to teach and demonstrate basic AC and DC circuit analysis
• Able to teach and demonstrate semiconductor circuit analysis including diode switching circuits, power supplies, and transistors amplifiers
• Able to teach and demonstrate proper use of electronics laboratory equipment
• Able to teach and demonstrate circuit building and troubleshooting techniques
